Ray's wild outburst alarms Liz, as do new patient Bernie's habit of attacking her husband and Maurice's meddling in Lorrie's life. Phyllis is still oblivious to the real world but Jack seems to derive some comfort from digging himself a fox-hole in his parents' garden and Herbert is philosophical - as well as trying to importune Liz. The reappearance of ex-husband Don, threatening suicide unless Liz has him back, is also something she can do without but at least she gets Graham out of bed and walking.
