The semi-final features an appearance by comedian and ceramicist Johnny Vegas, demonstrating how to throw a teapot before the contestants try to make five in as many minutes. But that's not their only challenge. For the spot test, they are asked to come up with anything they like, a signature piece to wow judges Kate Malone and Keith Brymer Jones, and in the main make they must create and decorate a fully functioning toilet over four days. Whose dreams of reaching the final will end up down the pan?
